Air Cargo industry looks up for opportunities in India

  04.04.2013

The 5th edition of the international biennial Air Cargo event organized by the STAT Times  -  “AIR CARGO INDIA 2014” is scheduled to take place from 4-6, February, 2014 in Mumbai.
“AIR CARGO INDIA 2014” themed, “Moving from sustainability to profitability” will provide a much bigger and positive picture of the Indian air cargo industry, especially after the new initiatives welcomed in the Indian aviation sector. The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced the first of its kind Air Logistics Policy on air cargo under the Working Group of Air Cargo/Express Services Industry.  The cabinet’s approval on 49% FDI in Indian Aviation is also great news to build on opportunities.
It would also high light the expansion of infrastructure facilities, simplification of procedures and adoption of Information Technology and Automation apart from yet to be tapped Human Resources in the Industry.  The ongoing  efforts by the players of the   industry to keep up with their international counterparts by infusing  technological advancements such as  e-freight and measures being adopted  to address important issues considering the long-term perspective and future growth potential in the sector will also be given due emphasis.
“The current standing of the Indian air cargo industry as compared to its international counterparts is truly enviable with its thoroughly changed outlook owing to varying factors, especially the recent changes in the policies governing the airline industry opening up avenues for FDI into it. The Indian domestic and international air cargo throughput is expected to grow eight to ten times the present level in the next twenty years.  The industry, one must say, has excelled in gearing up itself to meet the challenges in turning the sub-continent to the ‘Air Cargo Hub’ of the world. Through the 5th edition of the event we would be showcasing the might and worth of the Indian Air Cargo Industry of today and the unlimited investments it offers to the world.   We whole heartedly welcome all our well wishers who were with us during 2006  to the 5th edition of our event," said Priyo Patra, Director Events of  STAT  Times, the organizer of the event.
