Hiab, a Cargotec subsidiary and provider of on-road load handling equipment including loader cranes and truck-mounted forklifts, has opened a centre in Dubai, UAE, to install and maintain its equipment, according to the Shipping Gazette.
Hiab's services and installation partner Al Mazrooei Engineering Services LLC owns and manages the new service centre, which has a staff of 25 service technicians and related support personnel.
Aside from providing installation services to customers in and around the UAE, the service centre also caters to businesses located across the Middle East and North East Africa.
"We have cooperated with our trusted partner Al Mazrooei Engineering Services LLC for a long time and we requested Pradeep Raman, managing director of the company, to help us develop a service centre that was accessible for all our Middle East and North East African customers," said Mahendra Ekanayake, market area director for Hiab Middle East and North Africa.
"The majority of our customers operate in the construction sector where the uninterrupted operation of equipment is critical in large building projects. Since this is a dedicated service centre, it will reduce the lead time for customer service and enable us to work even more closely with customers to provide tailored services." Mr Ekanayake said.
"We have been supplying equipment in this region for 40 years and our business is growing. The opening of the service centre considerably strengthens our existing service offering and network in the region," he said.
