Ukraine International Airlines carries on implementing the fleet renewal and expansion program by expanding its fleet with another two Boeing 737-900 aircraft.
Produced in 2009 new UIA aircraft arrived at Kiev Boryspil International airport on July 24 and 29, passed an official registration procedure in Ukraine and received UR-PSK and UR-PSL registration numbers. Having passenger capacity of 215 seats each new aircraft will operate UIA charter flights.
UIA operated the first flight on UR-PSK aircraft en route Kiev – Larnaca – Kiev was operated on July 27, 2013. Boeing 737-900 UR-PSL aircraft is scheduled to operate its first UIA-coded flight en route Kiev – Antalya – Kiev on August 13, 2013.
It bears reminding that July 26, 2013, UIA expanded its fleet with new Boeing 737-900 UR-PSI aircraft produced at Boeing production facilities in Seattle in 2013.
Thus, UIA fleet currently consists of 36 aircraft: 5 Embraer-190 aircraft and 31 Boeing 737 aircraft (including three newly-received modern Boeing 737-900 aircraft).
“Practically conjoined three Boeing 737-900 aircraft acquisition under terms and conditions of operational lease is yet another step of UIA fleet renewal and expansion program implementation, – noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary. – Such substantial fleet expansion at the very height of the summer season will allow the airline to increase passenger capacity by 609 – 619 (depending on Boeing 737-900 UR-PSI cabin layout) seats, to provide passengers with high-quality service, and to improve flight regularity rates. The fourth UIA Boeing 737-900 are scheduled to arrive through to the end of 2013”.
