Denis Ilin has become the new executive president of AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), Russia's largest international scheduled cargo airline, the Shipping Gazette informs.
Before assuming office, Mr Ilin worked for the last five years as head of aviation for Basic Element, the Russian financial and industrial group, where his main responsibilities included aviation business development.
Mr Ilin previously held several leadership roles within the Volga Dnepr Group, including operations manager of Volga Dnepr UK (United Kingdom), general director of AirBridgeCargo, and senior vice president, strategic marketing and sales. A company release said he also made a significant contribution to the establishment of Volga Dnepr group's scheduled cargo business.
His new responsibilities are to increase ABC's quality, competitiveness and operational effectiveness, and to centralise global business management.
"Despite the challenging market conditions facing all airlines, I see a very strong and positive future for AirBridgeCargo Airlines," Mr Ilin said. "The airline has an excellent team of professionals and good growth potential. My job will be to maximise what we can achieve with the airline's resources and build a successful, long-term future based on our long-term, successful relationship with customers and on our strength in the home Russian market."
