Air China's latest statistics show that the carrier's cargo transportation volume slipped 3.6 per cent to 117,600 tonnes, Xinhua reports.
Air China's July cargo volume fell both year on year and month to month. Cargo capacity in July climbed 1.1 per cent. Cargo load factor shrank 1.5 percentage points year on year to only 59.4 per cent.
In July, the carrier bought 326,000 tonnes of air fuel at an average price of CNY6.7 million (US$1.04 million) per tonne, up 0.6 per cent year on year. Price of air fuel purchased from overseas market increased 0.9 per cent to CNY6,099 per tonne. The price of fuel bought in domestic market rose 0.7 per cent to CNY7,215 per tonne.
