TOC Events is delighted to announce that Mr. Musaad Bin Abdurahman Al-Drees, Director General, Administration, Saudi Ports Authority will give a keynote address at the upcoming TOC Container Supply Chain Middle East conference, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the world’s largest oil exporting country. It has the largest and most diversified economy in the Middle East with industrial exports that are internationally oriented. Some 95% of Saudi imports and exports (excluding oil) pass through the Kingdom’s sea ports, while 55% of cargo handled are for export.
The capacity of the Saudi ports has increased from 31 to 208 berths in recent years as the Kingdom has encouraged significant investment in new and upgraded capacity. Boosted by a programme of privatisation, the Kingdom’s ports are steadily gearing up to handle ever growing volumes of cargo. Today, Saudi ports are fully managed and operated by the private sector on a commercial basis, while Saudi Ports Authority retains its supervisory role.
Speaking of his forthcoming address to TOC CSC Middle East, Mr Al-Drees said: “I am delighted to be speaking at the TOC CSC Middle East conference. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is undergoing significant and exciting development in its port sector and I greatly look forward to discussing this with fellow speakers and delegates at the event.”
In addition to the participation of Mr. Al-Drees as a keynote speaker, Saudi Ports Authority will also exhibit for the first time at the accompanying trade show of port services, equipment and technology.
TOC Container Supply Chain Middle East comprises an executive-level conference, free-to-attend Technical Seminars, extensive trade exhibition and unique networking opportunities between industry peers. The event runs 9-11 December at the Dubai World Trade Centre with the support of global terminal operator DP World as host port.
