Discover DB Schenker innovation at Multimodal 2014

Industry-specific Europe-wide solutions for all modes of transport – DB Schenker will present its full range of intermodal services and intergrated logistics solutions at Multimodal 2014, NEC Birmingham 29 April to 01 May 2014.
Now in its seventh year, Multimodal is the UK and Ireland’s leading freight transport and logistics exhibition. DB Schenker Logistics and DB Schenker Rail UK will be showcasing their full range of products and services on Stand 540.
DB Schenker Rail UK will demonstrate its new Anubis IT system at the show. Anubis is the most advanced order-management system in the market, facilitating full EDI integration for customers and partners, and enabling goods to be tracked along the whole supply chain.
Neil McDonald, Head of Sales for DB Schenker Rail UK, said: “It’s been a busy year for DB Schenker Rail UK, as we forge ahead with new investments and innovations. We are the leading rail freight supplier to the new London Gateway, we are running longer trains from the new rail terminal at Felixstowe, and developments at Southampton have enabled us to increase capacity per train by 30%. We’re excited about sharing the benefits of these and other innovations with our customers and partners, old and new, when we meet them at the show.”
Visitors to the DB Schenker stand will be able to find out more about the company’s new intermodal services between the Midlands and Scotland, as well as its new network of terminals which are allowing significant growth in domestic intermodal services.
Steve Pryce, Head of Marketing and Wagon Management at DB Schenker Rail UK, added: “We also want to share news of our investment in the wagon fleet, and the benefits it brings to customers. In particular, we now have more than 100 FXA wagons that allow us to transport the high-cube containers which are increasingly in demand across the UK network.”
Carl Hobbis, Marketing and Communications Manager, DB Schenker Logistics said: “We will have all our senior team from our vertical industry and product areas present for the duration of the show and they’ll be on hand to discuss industry-specific solutions with visitors to the stand. In addition, we will have members of our senior IT team present at Multimodal who will be available to discuss our technical solutions which add value to supply chains.”
He added: “We are proud to be the Official Logistics Provider for the Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth Games and visitors will be able to find out more about our involvement and have the chance to win tickets by visiting our stand.
“We will continue a tradition of hosting our first year apprentices on the final day of Multimodal which will give them a unique insight in to the exciting and diverse industry of logistics. Once again in 2014, we will be taking on another fifteen apprentices in the summer. Getting more young people into our business and the industry is part of our strategy and something we continue with.”
