OW Bunker appoints regional manager to lead physical distribution in South East Asia

  06.06.2014

OW Bunker, one of the world’s leading physical distributors and resellers of marine fuels, today announced that it has appointed Kasper Kristensen as Regional Manager, South East Asia, Physical Distribution. The newly created role will further strengthen existing physical distribution operations in Singapore and Australia, as well as support the growth of the company’s physical distribution network across the wider region. Kasper previously held the position of Financial Manager and will remain based in Singapore.
In Singapore, the company currently operates two bunker barges, the 6,963 DWT vessel, An Hong, and the 5,600 DWT bunker tanker Nepamora. OW Bunker also announced the launch of physical operations in Australia in March 2014. These include a leased oil tank in Port Kembla, New South Wales, and the distribution of the full range of fuel products by road tankers at the ports of Sydney, Newcastle and Eden.
Søren Christian Meyer, Vice President – Physical Distribution, OW Bunker, commented:
“Having a dedicated focus on our physical distribution operations in Singapore and Australia, as well as developing our distribution network across South East Asia and the wider region will deliver strong benefits. In addition to supporting OW Bunker’s regional growth plans, this will ensure that our operations are fine-tuned to maximise operational and cost efficiencies for our customers in meeting their specific requirements for fuel procurement.”
Mr Meyer continues:
“Kasper has a deep knowledge of our business, our values and ambitions, as well as an essential understanding of what our customers need from us as their marine fuels distributor. I am confident that we have a compelling strategy for our Asia business and the right team in place to deliver this.”
