Lufthansa Cargo to open new station at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport

Germany's Lufthansa Cargo is working in close collaboration with the authority at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport in Buren to open a new station which will initially operate from Wednesday to Friday.
"Our new service in Paderborn contributes to the further acceleration of imports and exports at the business location of Eastern Westphalia," said regional sales director Ulla Kuntze.
The environment also benefits from the new freight handling options at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport because bundled consignments can now be transported to our hub," she said.
In the initial stage of the opening of the new facility, consignments in the standard freight, express freight and hazardous materials categories will be transported in regularly scheduled trucks under an LH flight number to the Frankfurt hub, according to Airport Technology, London (Kable Intelligence).
"We see great development potential for air cargo at the airport," said Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport chief executive officer Marc Cezanne. "In Lufthansa Cargo, we have gained a first-class partner and are delighted to be part of the branch network of the world's leading cargo airline."
Lufthansa Cargo, which focuses on airport-to-airport business, provides the Frankfurt and Munich hubs with access to nearly 300 destinations worldwide. Last business year, the airline transported nearly 1.6 million tonnes of freight and mail, and also sold 8.4 billion revenue tonne-kilometres, according to Shipping Gazette.
