Singapore Changi Airport cargo up 9.4pc in July


Singapore's Changi Airport saw cargo shipments rise 9.4 per cent in July to reach 161,450 tonnes, compared to the same period last year.
It handled 5.18 million passenger movements in July, a 5.9 per cent year-on-year increase.
Aircraft movements were 4.7 per cent higher at 30,790 landings and takeoffs.
For the month of July, all of Changi's top five country markets achieved growth of at least five per cent. Passenger traffic between Singapore and China rose 13.4 per cent - to more than half a million passenger movements.
Among Changi's top 10 cities, Denpasar (+13.1 per cent) and Melbourne (+20.6 per cent) recorded the strongest growth.
On July 21, Singapore Airlines launched its thrice weekly services to Dusseldorf, a new city link for Changi Airport, according to Shipping Gazette.
