New Co-operation: Europe - East Coast South America


With effect from June 2004 the Europe/East Coast South America Joint Service of Hamburg Sud, Alianca, CMA-CGM, Hapag-Lloyd and NYK and the P&O Nedlloyd service (“Lambada”) will be amalgamated into an enlarged co-operation offering a unique three string service to the trade. The lines will jointly operate a fleet of 16 x 2,500 TEU vessels, of which 10 will be provided by Hamburg Sud, five by P&O Nedlloyd and one by CMA-CGM. The consortium will offer fixed day - thrice weekly services between major ports on East Coast South America and Europe. Other ports will be served on either twice or once weekly basis. The lines are committed to enhancing their combined strengths with respect to port coverage, reliability and reefer capacity so as to offer a service of superior quality and scope.
