CMA CGM levies Asia-Americas rate hikes from June 1, June 15


French shipping giant CMA CGM will levy a general rate increase on cargo from Asia to Panama and the Caribbean and which includes Cuba on its PEX2 service from June 15, according to Shipping Gazette.
Rate increases will be US$1,050 per TEU, US$1,500 per FEU and US$1,500 per 40-foot high cube.
CMA CGM will also exact a Freight All Kinds (FAK) rate increase from June 1 for cargo from Asian port to US ports.
To US west coast ports, the rate will be US$1,650 per FEU, and to US east coast ports, it will be US$2,650 per FEU high cube. These rates are subject to applicable tariff/contract surcharges.
