SingPost’s SAM wins World Post and Parcel Award


Singapore Post (SingPost) won top honours at the 2017 World Post and Parcel Awards, its fourth win in five years, as its SAM omni-channel platform clinched the retail customer access trophy.
The results were announced in Paris on 7 June 2017 at a gala dinner held during the World Mail & Express 2017 Europe Conference & Exhibition. This is the 18th year of the “Oscars” of the mail and courier industry, and SingPost’s win comes after previous awards in 2015 for Retail Customer Access, 2014 for eCommerce, and 2013 for People Management.
Mr Woo Keng Leong, Chief Executive Officer for Postal Services, SingPost, said, “We are honoured by this prestigious international recognition of how SingPost is innovating to satisfy the evolving needs and expectations of our customers. The award comes as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the SAM kiosk, and endorses SAM’s transformation into an omni-channel post office of the digital age.”
Launched in 1997, the SAM kiosk has transformed into an omni-channel platform that lies at the foundation of SingPost’s digital post office vision. Through an island-wide network of kiosks that were revamped in December 2016, a web portal and a mobile app, SAM enables consumers to access postal and other retail services anytime and anywhere through their smartphones and other mobile devices. In addition, the creation of these digital channels has improved the efficiency of post office frontline staff and shortened counter queues for customers.
