Fraport, Dakosy create world's first digital portal for dangerous goods

Starting in May, Frankfurt Airport operator FRA, and software provider Dakosy AG have agreed to implement a shippers' digital dangerous good cargo portal, according to Shipping Gazette.
For the first time, the entire dangerous goods process will be digitised as the portal communicates shipment details and dangerous goods data electronically through a single, from shipper to airline.
Said Dakosy CEO Ulrich Wrag: "Our solution will considerably simplify processes for all users across company borders."
Legislation mandates that for every dangerous goods shipment, a Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD) must be included with the shipment. But due to documentation errors, there are delays for dangerous goods.
With the new portal, said Mr Wrag, these errors are identified and corrected well before arrival at the airport. Additionally, time-consuming manual entries are no longer necessary.
