WFS wins Cathay cargo handling job in Brussels and Copenhagen

Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Cargo has awarded Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) new cargo handling contracts at Brussels and Copenhagen, reports London's Air Cargo News.
Cathay signed a three-year contract for WFS to provide cargo handling for its new Brussels-Hong Kong flights which commenced last week.
The airline will begin four flights a week on the route, moving passengers and cargo aboard its Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
Paris-based WFS expects to handle some 7,000 tonnes of cargo and mail per annum for Cathay Pacific in Brussels and will continue ground handling for Cathay trucks in Belgium.
In addition, the airline has also selected WFS for cargo handling in Copenhagen. Cathay Pacific will commence a seasonal thrice weekly direct service to the Danish capital from May 2.
Said WFS vice president Marc Claesen: "We have a clear understanding of Cathay's requirements having worked together for some time."
This is the latest in a series of new contract successes for WFS in Brussels, which last month announced agreements with CAL Cargo Airlines, Japan Airlines, MNG Airlines and Oman Air.
Brussels is also the first WFS cargo stations in Europe to achieve IATA CEIV Pharma certification.
