Turkish Cargo to take up space at Istanbul airport's new mega cargo hub

Turkish Cargo plans to continue all of its cargo operations from Istanbul Ataturk Airport until the end of December and thereafter all bellyhold cargo will be flown from Istanbul New Airport expected to open on October 29.
The carrier's freighter flights will continue to be operated from Istanbul Ataturk Airport, reported London's Air Cargo News.
The airline will occupy 165,000 square metres at the new hub, which will have an annual cargo handling capacity of two million tons at the end of the first construction phase. The second phase of development will raise the capacity to four million tons per year.
"The global air cargo brand, which services to more than 300 destinations in 124 countries, is also designing differentiated services, diversified special cargo areas and more quality and lean processes for the special product groups," Turkish Cargo said.
"The new mega hub will be the first air cargo terminal which is to be integrated into the operational process of artificial intelligence with support of pallet container handling system (PCHS) and an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS).
