US refuses to resume trade talks until China addresses grievances

The Trump administration has said it will not engage in trade talks with China until it acts to rectify Washington's grievances, CNBC reports.
Presidents Trump and Xi are due to meet at the end of November at the G20 leaders' summit in Buenos Aires, a meeting that was uncertain to go ahead following recent exchanges from government officials.
"If China wants the G20 session to be a meaningful meeting, we need to do the groundwork," a senior White House official said. "And if they don't give us any information, it's hard to see how that becomes fruitful."
Since earlier this year, the United States has pressed China to address issues involving alleged forced technology transfers, intellectual property theft and non-tariff barriers to trade.
