CMA CGM levies peak season surcharge on cargo to Onne, Nigeria


French shipping line CMA CGM is introducing a peak season surcharge (PPS) to transport cargo to Onne, Nigeria from Asia including China, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh; India subcontinent and Middle East Gulf; and North and South America, as well as from Africa, according to Shipping Gazette.
All dry, reefer, out of gauge (OOG) and breakbulk cargo to Onne will be subject to the PPS, starting from December 17 (date of loading) for non-FMC trades; and from January 15 (date of loading) for FMC trades.
The PPS for dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk cargo carried from all ports in Europe and the Mediterranean to Onne will take effect from December 17 (date of loading in the origin ports).
