CMA CGM enhances its Europe to Indian Ocean & Australia offering

French shipping giant CMA CGM is to reinforce its Europe-Indian Ocean & Australia offering by upgrading its NEMO service, which connects North Europe and the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean Islands and Australia on the southbound leg and Australia to southeast Asia and Europe on the northbound leg, according to Shipping Gazette.
Subject to applicable filing requirements, the carrier said the upgraded service, with 19 ports calls, including 6 hubs offering dedicated feeder services, will start in September 2019 and will be operated in partnership with MSC. Five CMA CGM vessels will be deployed.
This new offer will feature an upgraded fleet and provide expanded port coverage through a better utilisation of hubs offering dedicated feeder services. "CMA CGM will thereby offer a premium, direct service between Europe and Australia as well as faster transit time from Australia, southeast Asia and southeast India to Europe," the carrier said.
"With this unique offer, CMA CGM pursues its ambition to strengthen its direct service from Europe to the Indian Ocean Islands and Australia."
The NEMO service port rotation: London Gateway, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Fos-sur-Mer, La Spezia, Genoa, Port Said, Pointe des Galets, Port-Louis, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, Singapore, Colombo, Port Said, Valencia, Sines and back to London Gateway.
