Bollore Logistics increases French air freight volumes at CDG by 44pc

French forwarding giant Bollore Logistics handled 690,000 tonnes of air freight worldwide in 2018 and has seen air cargo tonnages at its Roissy Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport in Paris grow by 44 per cent since 2016 as it consolidated traffic flows from around France.
Bollore vice president Philippe de Crecy said that one third of the CDG volume increase over those two years is organic growth for Bollore, which maintains a 20 per cent in of the French air freight market, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The forwarder, part of a billion dollar turnover family owned empire that has TV channels and electronics subsidiaries, is Air France Cargo's largest customer, as well as being its next door neighbour at CDG.
Last year saw Bollore handle 64,400 tonnes of French imports and 115,000 tonnes of exports at CDG, and making 280,000 customs declarations.
Mr de Crecy said that a lack of long-haul capacity in the French provinces was the main reason behind the CDG focus, which is now the hub for 50 per cent of such traffic, with the remainder flown out of Toulouse or Bordeaux.
