DHL moves all equipment for Rugby World Cup tournament in Japan

DHL Express has delivered a total of 67,000 kilogrammes of equipment and training and technical gear for the 20 teams that are competing in the Rugby World Cup in Japan that kicks off today (September 20).
The carrier was also responsible for delivering 432,000 tickets to 140 countries, reported London's Air Cargo News.
Plus, it supported Ron Rutland and James Owens in their mission to deliver the official match whistle from London to Tokyo by bicycle, a 20,000km journey that began in February and crossed 27 countries.
The riders are raising awareness and funds for disadvantaged children in Asia, giving them the opportunity to participate in sports and acquire vital life skills through the rugby-for-development programme 'ChildFund Pass It Back.'
DHL delivered spare parts and care packages for the two riders, as well as provided security and cross-border advice.
The logistics company also helped give children the chance to deliver an official match ball at one of the matches, with 25 countries hosting promotions to find the 48 lucky winners.
