SAS Cargo again tops in Cargo iQ's customer performance

Scandinavia's SAS Cargo took the number one spot in Cargo iQ's Customer Promise Performance Index (CPPI) in September, as it takes delivery of its new A350 aircraft fly the Copenhagen-Chicago route from January 28.
The airline's cargo business told London's Air Cargo News that the CPPI is based on milestones being completed as promised, such as freight and documents being checked into the import warehouse on time.
"Our position as number one in the world on delivering air freight quality has been achieved in very close collaboration with all our ground handling agents," the carrier said.
"We distribute a weekly quality performance and ask for actions if there are any deviations in quality. By doing this, we can have a continuous and positive communication about our KPIs [key performance indicators] with all our vendors, and they know what we expect from them."
Eight new Airbus A350 aircraft will replace A340s currently in the fleet. The airline will receive the last aircraft of the order by 2021.
Aside from the Chicago route, the other seven aircraft will fly from Copenhagen to Beijing, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.
These new aircraft offer a cargo capacity similar to the A340 - some 20 tonnes - but will cut the external noise footprint by up to 40 per cent and will reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 30 per cent.
