Hanjin Shipping initiates new China-East Mediterranean service

Hanjin Shipping will add a new service to the China-East Mediterranean trade by swapping space with Yang Ming Line, a CKYH alliance, in May 2007.
With the launch of GIX service, seven vessels of 3,000 TEU class will be deployed. The new service will call at Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou, Ashdod, Piraeus and Thessaloniki.
The new direct link between China and East Mediterranean will stabilize the company's sales outpost in Israel and Greece Region where transport volumes are rapidly increasing and help strengthen the company's strategy for niche market.
In addition, GIX service is expected to diversify both the previous Mediterranean services and Asia-Mediterranean services and improve competitive strength in these services.
With the new service, Hanjin Shipping plans to strengthen its service competitiveness continuously in the international maritime market while exploring new services to provide the best service to customers.
