  03.04.2007

Air Cargo Europe, one of the principal showcases for the air cargo sector, is continuing to expand. This year around 200 exhibitors from over 30 countries are set to take part  in this exhibition. For the first time an entire hall, with 11,000 square metres of exhibition space, is being devoted to the theme of air cargo at transport logistic, which takes place from 12 to 15 June 2007 in Munich.
Exhibiting at Air Cargo Europe 2007 in Hall A4 will be leading international air cargo companies. Alongside German exhibitors, who make up the largest contingent, there will be many companies here from the US, Great Britain and the Arab world. For the first time this year the event is attracting exhibitors from Azerbaijan, Georgia and Brazil.
The Air Cargo Europe exhibition is accompanied by a two-day conference, taking place on the mornings of 13 and 14 June 2007. Here leading figures in the industry will be discussing current themes in the sector. Following the welcoming address on 13 June by the new Chairman of Lufthansa Cargo AG, Carsten Spohr, attention will turn to the question of what the customer really wants. Answers to this will be explored by panellists Dr Ulrich Ogiermann, President & CEO of Cargolux Airlines International S.A., Ludwig Simmel, Senior Manager Supply Chain Management of Toshiba Europe GmbH and Oliver Evans, Executive Vice President, SwissWorldCargo. After this there will be a series of talks on the new markets in Eastern Europe and India, given by industry experts Ram Menen, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Airlines, Thomas Hoang, Regional Director of Boeing, Dr Martin Raab, Vice President of Capgemini Deutschland GmbH and Michael Muhlberger, Vice President Central & Eastern Europe of FedEX Express Europe.
The conference programme on 14 June starts with the theme of ‘The Impact of Global Security and Quality on Supply Chain Processes.’ Speakers invited to address this issue are Harald Zielinski, Head of Security & Risk Prevention Management at Lufthansa Cargo, Peter Trautmann, Chief Operating Officer, Munich Airport International and John Edwards, Head of Cargo Security, IATA. In the final session, delegates will be looking at the future of the air cargo market. Taking part here are Wolf Dietrich von Helldorf, Executive Vice President Central District Germany at Kuhne + Nagel, Dr Andreas Otto, a Member of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo, Ram Menen, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Airlines, Enno Osinga, Senior Vice President Cargo, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Thomas Mack, Vice President Air Freight at Schenker.
