Ab Solving Oy, which specializes in handling systems tailored for heavy loads and the associated services, won the President of the Republic's INNOFINLAND prize 2006, finnfacts reported.
"The prize is motivation to continue our long-term development work and also an advantage in our sales and marketing work," says Peter Björk, the Managing Director.
Solving offers individual and flexible comprehensive solutions for customers' handling needs - from design to after-sales. The handling systems are based on solutions developed by Solving: air bearings or wheels or a combination of both.
The technology used is always chosen in cooperation with the customer in order to achieve the best possible final outcome. With the equipment, customers can increase their productivity and competitiveness and improve their profitability.
"Our customers appreciate flexibility, safety and innovativeness," Björk emphasizes.
Solving's handling systems are used worldwide by heavy industries such as electrical equipment, vehicle, steel, paper and graphics. Exports account for 85 per cent of the turnover.
The theme of the INNOFINLAND prize was "Turning skill and ideas into service products". The theme highlighted companies where productized service innovations have been made or made part of technical products. In all, 222 companies were competing for the prize. The prize, which was established to promote Finnish innovativeness, has been awarded since 1994.
