International multi-faceted shipping group Fratelli Cosulich has expanded its freight forwarding business by opening an office in Dublin, Ireland. The move follows fast growth in its freight forwarding and NVOCC operations which operate from bases in Heathrow, Felixstowe, Izmir, Istanbul, New York, Shenzen and now Dublin.
Augusto Cosulich, managing director of Fratelli Cosulich’s freight and agency activities, says, “We have opened in Dublin for two reasons. The first was that we knew some good people there and good people are the key to good freight forwarding. The second was that Ireland is an undeveloped market for freight forwarding services, and we see large growth potential.”
Fratelli Cosulich will move freight of all types by road, sea and air and expects its Dublin office to have balanced import and export traffic. “We are growing because we understand service,” explains Cosulich. “We help people to get a tight grip on their supply chain, and they benefit from our expertise right across shipping. Over the next year I expect to open further freight forwarding bases in Turkey, at Bursa, south of Istanbul, and Mersin, and also in Mumbai and Shanghai. We are also widening our services by expanding into haulage in Europe. Our NVOCC sister company Express Srl already owns a fleet of specialised flat rack and open top containers, so we can provide our own bill of lading and own equipment. In that way we can keep an even better control of how our clients’ goods are moving.”
