The Freeport of Riga handles more general cargoes

During the first ten months of the current year 21,451 MLN tons of cargoes
were handled, which is by 1,1% less than during respective period of the last
year, when the Freeport handled 21,695 MLN tons of cargoes.
During this period the Freeport handled 4,786 MLN tons of general cargoes, reaching 13,3% increase if compared to first ten months of 2006, when 4,223 MLN tons were handled.
This year 12,509 MLN tons of bulk cargoes were handled, which is by 6,3% less than during last year’s respective period, when 13,355 MLN tons were handled.
4,156 MLN tons of liquid cargoes were handled, which is by 0,9% more than within the first ten months of the last year, when 4,118 MLN tons were handled.
During the first ten months of the current year 394 560 passengers were serviced in the Freeport of Riga, which is by 81,8% more than last year when 217 043 passengers were serviced. Of those, 127 977 persons were cruise passengers.
