Customer collaboration for cleaner shipping

  20.12.2007

The Port of Göteborg has taken the initiative in setting up Meeting Point Environment, a forum where the Port discusses environmental issues with customers and other bodies. At the latest meeting the Clean Shipping
Project was on the agenda. The aim of the project is to influence strategically important export and import companies in Sweden to make strict yet reasonable environmental demands regarding transport of their
goods by sea. The Clean Shipping Project was commissioned by local organizations in the Göteborg area. Companies such as ABB, Astra Zeneca, H&M, Preem Petroleum, Skanska Sweden, SKF, Stora Enso Logistics, Tetra Laval and Vattenfall Nordic AB have already declared that they are prepared to do everything they can to ensure compliance.
