MOL (Europe) to opens offices
Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) president Akimitsu Ashida has announced that its Rotterdam-based subsidiary MOL (Europe) will open offices on January 1 in Gothenburg, Sweden; Aarhus, Denmark and Helsinki, Shipping Gazette reported.
The offices will employ 29 people and handle MOL liner shipping agency services in Finland and Scandinavia. The Aarhus office will cover Denmark and Norway.
MOL has entrusted Seven Seas (Lehmann Nordic) as its agent for the liner service in the Nordic region. In 2004, it opened a north European branch in Gothenburg to manage the region to reinforce business and marketing structure.
MOL now sees it as "indispensable", said a company statement, to organise its own agency. Its three new offices will provide customer service, documentation, and booking.
MOL will retain Seven Seas' employees to ensure a smooth operational transfer from former agency to the new offices.
