Suez Canal Authority Board Member to speak at TOC Asia

Maritime and shipping experts from across the world will be gathering in Shanghai in March for the annual Terminal Operations Conference Asia.
Dr. Eng. Ezzat Mohamed Elsadek, board member director of the Suez Canal Authority's Planning & Research Department, is to speak at the event, which takes place from 18-20 March.
Dr Elsadek will discuss 'The Developing Role of the Suez Canal in Asia Trades' as this vital artery of global commerce faces up to tomorrow's challenges. He will be joined by Suez Canal Authority container trades specialist Mahmoud Ahmed Rezk, General Manager, Economic Studies.
Now in its 12th year, TOC Asia will fully reflect the significance of what has happened in Shanghai over the past decade and its impact on the global port industry. TOC Asia is widely recognised as being the key event in the global port and terminal calendar and is not to be missed.
Other keynote speakers at this prestigious event include two members of the Board of Harbour Commissioners, Port of Long Beach. Dr. Mike Walter, commission vice president, and Doris Topsy-Elvord, commission secretary, will tackle the environmental issue of 'Greening the Terminal.'
Robert S Johansen, PE, planning director, DMJM Harris | AECOM, a leading transportation and infrastructure specialist firm, will lead a half-day afternoon workshop on 17 March on 'Solutions for Improving Density & Productivity in Terminal Operations'. Touching on some of the tools, tricks and techniques to help terminal operators improve the density and productivity of their container terminal facilities, Bob Johansen, one of the port industry's most experienced planning and design professionals, will draw on the work of DMJM Harris on various terminal design studies, supported by its simulation modeling tools and work with the Pacific Maritime Association.
The TOC Asia 2008 conference will be accompanied by a three-day exhibition, showcasing the latest in equipment, technology and services for the ports and terminals industry worldwide. It will feature big names such as ZPMC, APM Terminals, Bromma, Cavotec, Gottwald, Kalmar, Liebherr, Navis and PD Ports.
