DHL to expand presence in India
Logistics company, DHL, announced plans to expand its presence in India, by establishing 100 small transportation hubs to help improve connectivity between non metro cities, India Aviation reported.
DHL also plans to increase the number of retail points of sale from the current 150, to 1,000 by 2010.
DHL Express CEO, Daniel J. McHugh, states, “we will make significant investments for opening retail points and strengthening ground transportation. With the help of Blue Dart, we should be able to connect across the country”.
DHL Group holds a 81.3% shareholding in Indian cargo carrier, Blue Dart, and has four business units in India including, DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Exel Supply Chain and Blue Dart.
