Winter speed limits relaxed
Winter speed limits on highways in the Finnish Road Administration's Uusimaa road region are to be relaxed from April 2nd. The changed limits come into force immediately when the winter signs have been taken down or switched, Helsingin Sanomat reported.
Those stretches of road where the speed limit was reduced for the winter months to 80km/hour will revert to 100km/h, and on motorways the winter limit of 100km/h will switch up to the normal summer limit of 120km/h, with the exception of those road sections where for one reason or another there happens to be a permanent lower limit.
Winter limits will also be removed in the Turku, Häme, and Vaasa road regions.
