According to calculations by Statistics Austria 354.3 million tons of goods were transported by road vehicles registered in Austria on 27.6 million rides. The transport volume in the survey year 2007 decreased by 1.3% compared with the preceding year. Stock of road vehicles included in this survey developed nearly proportional. The transport performance (the product of transport volume and distance), achieved on Austrian and foreign territory, decreased in the reporting year by 4.6% to a total of 37.4 billion ton-kilometres.
