Temsa Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. has been re-named into Temsa Global Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. as of May 12, 2008.
To support Temsa in its pursuit of sustainable growth, the Sabanci Holding, Temsa’s parent company, has granted Temsa the honor of re-naming it to Temsa Global A.S. This new identity supports the international growth of Temsa as it aims at becoming a world class global brand. In addition to the name change, the Holding has tripled the company’s paid in capital, paving the way to new investments.
Temsa has taken its first step in expanding its production facilities to Egypt by establishing Temsa Egypt (officially opened in April 2008) in a record breaking time (less than 12 months). This production facility will cater the Egyptian market, the Middle East, the Gulf and the North African countries.
The second step is the new Adapazari plant (established in June 2008), nearby Istanbul, which initially starts with the production of light trucks, but eventually will manufacture medium duty and heavy duty trucks as well as superstructures. In addition to the Turkish market, this facility will cater the truck markets of surrounding countries of Turkey.
Temsa is currently investigating the possibilities to further expand its bus and coach activities to a yet third country in order to increase its presence in different geographies.
As Temsa grows its international activities and presence, the adopted organizational structure is to establish wholly owned subsidiaries. The change of name from Temsa to Temsa Global is the mark of a strong support from the Sabanci Holding to the Temsa organisation enabling Temsa to grow with subsidiary companies. The company’s headquarters are also being relocated to Istanbul, in the Sabanci Towers. This allows Temsa to be close to the decision chambers within the Sabanci Holding.
The President of former Temsa Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S., Mr. Mehmet Buldurgan, has been assigned as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Temsa Global as of June 1, 2008.
