Effective August 1, 2008, Bernard Krone (Diplom-Kaufmann.(German MBA equivalent), 30), took the chair as managing director (CEO) of the Maschinenfabrik Bernard Krone GmbH, in addition to his position as managing director of Krone Holding . After completing his studies, Bernard Krone worked first as a consultant for the Technologie Management Gruppe (TMG) of Karlsruhe, Germany, before entering the family business at the beginning of 2007, at which time he assumed the position of Managing Director of Krone Holding. In this position he currently supports the Krone refrigerated vehicle plant in Hvam, Denmark. Taking on the leadership position in the machine factory is another step in the ongoing long-term plans for assuming strate-gic control of overall responsibility in the family enterprise.
Reporting directly to Mr. Krone as Managing Director and acting in executive roles in the machine factory are Dr. Josef Horstmann (Design and Development), Dipl.-Ing. (graduate engineer) Wolf-gang Jung (Customer Service and Spare Parts), Dipl.-Ing. agr. Wilhelm Voß (Sales and Marketing) and Dipl.-Ing. (TU) Siegfried Wickert (Production and Material Management).
Maschinenfabrik Bernard Krone GmbH manufactures innovative ground forage harvest technology at the Spelle site in the Emsland district of Lower Saxony. The complete Krone program includes disc mowers, rotary tedders, rotary rakes, loading and discharge wagons and big pack balers and round balers. The Krone product line also includes two self-propelled machines: the Big M high-performance mower conditioner and the Big X exact forage har-vester.
The Maschinenfabrik (machine factory) currently counts about 1200 Krone employees who produced sales of 305 million Euros in the last business year. Sales for the entire Krone Group totalled 1.2 billion Euros. For the current business year, which ends 31.07.2008, Krone is expecting sales of about 1.4 billion Euros, about 350 million of it from Maschinenfabrik sales.
