New at ID WORLD 2008: the Investors Forum
This year¹s event will debut the ID WORLD Investors Forum, an exclusive initiative for entrepreneurs, executives, investors, industry and financial analysts involved in automatic identification, designed to provide business insights and networking opportunities.
Designed around an intensive one day conference program and focused networking initiatives, the ID WORLD Investors Forum will focus on valuation, exit strategies, IPOs, investment opportunities, hot regions,
emerging technologies, capital investments, gross margins and ROI.
The ID WORLD Classics: three, 3-day Forums
The ID WORLD International Congress will feature again this year three 3-day conference streams dedicated to three particularly hot topics: Citizen ID Programs, Transportation Hub Security and Total Asset Visibility.
The seventh Electronic Passport Forum will outline the roadmap for government driven ID programs and highlight the issues and opportunities related to the introduction of state-of-the-art ePassports and visas, as
well as the new national IDs, driver¹s licenses and eHealth cards.
The Transportation Security Forum returns for the third time following its highly successful inauguration in Paris in February 2007 and will explore how identification technologies can improve airport and port security
infrastructure.
The Asset Tracking Forum, meanwhile, returns for the second time at the ID WORLD International Congress and will focus on object tagging in supply chain management. Special attention will be given to applications for the
pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
The ID WORLD Academy: 2 master classes on technologies
Today, smart cards and biometrics are robust, convenient, cost effective technologies used to build first class security infrastructures to identify a broad range of users (citizens, consumers, employees,...). Due to their
broad adoption all around the world, knowledge of these technologies is a must for every professional dealing in self-service and security technologies. The conference on Secure Identification will provide insight
into these topics.
Short-range wireless identification technologies such as RFID and NFC are pioneering a world where objects are part of an invisible ubiquitous computing network. Since consumer electronics, mobile devices and the PC
industry are adopting these standards, their knowledge is a must for every professional dealing with ICT. The conference on Wireless Identification will provide insight into these topics.
The ID WORLD Core: 4 application conferences
The four vertical conferences at the ID WORLD International Congress will continue the in-depth investigations carried out at last year¹s event with an individual analysis of the impact that automatic identification
technologies are having in specific market segments. The focus will fall this year on the areas of Textile, Transactions, Livestock and Ticketing, with dedicated conferences featuring keynote presentations from end users, as well as speakers from most the prominent suppliers, who will outline the current status of technologies in their particular fields.
About ID WORLD International Congress
The ID WORLD International Congress, organized by Wise Media, is the annual world summit on automatic identification. It is the most comprehensive showcase of RFID, biometrics and smart card technologies, and is the only international forum that looks at the auto ID industry as a whole, rather
than focusing on a specific technology or vertical sector.
This year¹s ID WORLD International Congress will take place in Milan at the Milanofiori Congress Center on November 18th to 20th and explore the fundamental issues associated with automatic identification in a variety of market segments via three cornerstone initiatives: the Conference, the Exhibition and the Exchange.
