Port Columbus, Rickenbacker complete annual FAA inspections

  14.08.2008

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently completed its annual safety and certification inspections of Port Columbus International Airport and Rickenbacker International Airport. The inspection reports for both airports noted no violations of safety and other operating standards, resulting in a “zero deficiencies” finding.
The FAA certification inspector focused on runway safety, pavement marking and lighting, safety inspections, wildlife management records, and many other aspects during the four-day assessment. The inspector performed day and night-time inspections of the airfields and also tested safety and operational processes, including emergency response.
“The commitment to excellence demonstrated by our Airfield Maintenance, Airport Operations and Public Safety divisions makes it possible for our airports to be recognized during these rigorous annual inspections,” said Elaine Roberts, President and CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. “We focus on safety every day of the year and it is rewarding for the FAA to recognize the dedicated efforts of our employees.”
