Steveco crane arrived at Vuosaari

The first of the two container cranes ordered by Steveco Oy from Konecranes arrived at Vuosaari Harbour on July 29. The second container crane will arrive at Vuosaari in spring 2009. The two cranes ordered by Steveco are Panamax-class, BoxHunter-type container cranes with a lifting capacity of 50 tonnes and a reach of 38 metres.
Steveco chose these so-called smart cranes, which make advanced cargo-handling processes possible. The cranes are fast and thus will suit the handling of feeder container vessels superbly well. These vessels will be typical of the ships calling at Vuosaari Harbour.
Earlier, Finnsteve Oy Ab brought two new container cranes to the eastern part of the harbour. A total of ten container cranes will be located at Vuosaari Harbour.
