Four years ago the first Wizz Air flight from Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport took off to London Luton. Since then 1,7 million passengers have enjoyed Wizz Air’s services. „Gdansk was the third Wizz Air base in Poland. We will carry over 1 million passengers this year to and from Gdansk and will continue to grow at 25% rate next year. The people of Pomerania have clearly shown their appreciation for our low fare great value service by chosing Wizz Air most of the times when flying in and out of the region. Wizz Air is the largest airline in Gdansk Lech Walesa airport and will be reinforcing its leadership in the future. We are looking forward to further fruitful cooperation with Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport.” – said Natasa Kazmer, Head of Corporate Communication and Public Affairs of Wizz Air.
Włodzimierz Machczyński, Chief Executive of Lech Walesa Airport in Gdansk added: „Wizz Air has been successfully operating from Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport for already four years. When Wizz Air entered into the market and started flights from our airport, the airline immediately became one of the strongest players in the low-cost airlines market. I am glad that Wizz Air can benefit from the increasing number of flown passengers by offering more and more attractive routes from our airport. We wish Wizz Air lots of successes in Gdansk and as well in other parts of Europe and we are counting on further more attractive routes from Lech Walesa Airport in Gdansk.”
