Global supply chain and logistics services provider, GAC Logistics, has joined Cargo 2000 to enhance its quality assurance and processes in line with industry standards and provide measurable efficiencies and an overall reduction in costs.
GAC says membership of Cargo 2000 will enable it to monitor carrier performance, verify transit times and cut labour intensive processes, improving its management of shipments. This will strengthen GAC’s quality of shipment planning and handling and result in improved efficiencies, cost reductions and revenue increases.
The decision to implement Cargo 2000’s quality management system is part of GAC’s commitment to provide best practice and value-added services to its customers.
Bill Hill, Group Vice-President, GAC Logistics, said: “We are happy to partner with Cargo 2000 as we believe the system represents significant progress in quality and operational excellence within the airfreight industry. Working with Cargo 2000 will enable our company to offer the best levels of service to our customers and this is in line with our common values of service excellence.
“Reliable and quality control of data allows GAC to provide up-to-date accurate information for each shipment. And with high transparency and optimisation of operations, GAC is able to pass on cost saving and further quality in customer service to its shippers.”
GAC Group employs 8,000 people in over 300 offices worldwide. Since its establishment by Swedish transport interests in 1956, GAC has grown to become a leading global provider of shipping, logistics, marine and related services.
