The Polish company PKP Cargo together with Crossrail Benelux NV. launched cross-border rail container transport for the firm Hupac using EU43 locomotives.
Procedures on the Polish-German border crossing in Frankfurt/Oderbrűcke have been simplified.
Crossrail Benelux NV is the first private rail operator in the European Union, which signed a contract of cooperation with PKP Cargo in respect of use of its EU43 locomotive on the cross-border transportation. Agreement over the mutual technical and trade trust will help to minimize the time of the train's stoppage.
Now PKP Cargo SA plans to simplify procedures on the border crossings with Slovakia and Czech Republic as well, Railway Market reported.
