The St Petersburg-based Russian Eurosib group is pushing ahead with plans to develop a terminal network, with the first phase (to the end of 2009) dedicated to the establishment of five base terminals in Russia's most important freight nodes. Terminals in St Petersburg and Novosibirsk have already been completed, with facilities in Yekaterinburg and Moscow next. The second phase (until 2012) envisages the building of nine regional terminals in regions of economic growth. The entire network should consist of 80 terminals by 2020. The scheme is based on Eurosib providing 20% of the required funds from its own capital, with the rest coming from outside investors.
