The state-owned railways of Bosnia and Herzegovina plans to transport 8.2 million tonnes of cargo this year, out of which more than four million in international exchange.
Under the 2009 business plan, discussed by the Government of FBiH in its last session, its passenger cars will carry 593,000 people and go 45.4 million passenger kilometres. The company further plans to increase the share of massive cargo transport, especially for the basic industry and the oil industry, Railway Market reports.
Considering the general economic environment, the management does not expect significant increases in 2009, but the revenue/expenditures ration is expected to reach 112.2 per cent. Projected profit this year is BAM 580,000 (EUR 296,549).
