Horizon Lines, Inc., an ocean shipping and integrated logistics company, has been named Jones Act Carrier of the Year for 2008 by Walmart Stores, Inc. The award is presented each year to a domestic ocean carrier to recognize best-in-class schedule reliability and exceptional customer service. The award was presented at a meeting at Walmart's headquarters in Bentonville, AR on May 12.

Kelly Abney, Vice President, Walmart Corporate Transportation.

presentation with Brian Taylor, Horizon Logistics' President and Chief Operating Officer. "Providing transportation and logistics solutions for our customers is the core mission and passion of the Horizon team. We recognize that through true partnerships with our customers we can provide meaningful and enduring value."
Horizon Lines is the only ocean carrier serving all three domestic trades of Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, where Walmart operates a combined total of more than 75 stores.
