Cargotec’s business area MacGREGOR has recently won cargo access contracts from French operator Compagnie Meridionale de Navigation and a repeat RoRo equipment order from the French Navy.
MacGREGOR is to supply cargo access equipment for a new 2500 lane-meters RoPax ferry for French shipping company Compagnie Meridionale de Navigation (CMN), and for a French Navy vessel. MacGREGOR has unrivalled experience in developing marine cargo handling and offshore load-handling solutions, and is part of Cargotec Corporation, the world's leading provider of cargo handling solutions used in local transportation, terminals, ports, distribution centres, and ships.
The CMN RoPax vessel on order at Brodosplit shipyard in Croatia will accommodate 2,500 lane-metres of freight, 200 cars and 750 passengers, and will serve the company’s France to Corsica/Sardines run upon delivery in 2011. MacGREGOR’s Croatian production partner Radez will produce and install the RoRo equipment: two stern ramps, one ramp cover, two bulkhead doors, one garage door, three engine room hatches and six side/bunker doors.
For the repeat order from the French Navy for its third Mistral-class landing helicopter deck (LHD) vessel under construction at STX Europe in France, MacGREGOR’s delivery includes: design, production and installation of RoRo equipment. The outfit comprises a stern door/ramp, a side ramp, two helicopter elevators, a garage door and other smaller doors.
