Aegean Cargo hits 40% share from France

Aegean Airlines Cargo is celebrating winning 40% market share from France to Athens after just six months of operations.
Aegean began twice-daily services from Paris CDG in November 2008, using A320 aircraft. It began actively marketing its cargo capacity in December, using Paris-based Transnautic Air Service. Each successive month has seen a substantial increase in uplift, hitting a 40% share of the France-Athens market in May 2009.
Says Transnautic Air Service General Manager Emmanuelle Deleau: “This is a fantastic result in such a short time. Aegean has restored reliable service to the French market, and has proven very popular as a result.
“The frequency of its services has been a major factor in its success, and helped us to win a  contract with the French postal service, that has made a significant contribution to the total.”
Aegean Airlines was launched in 1999, and merged with fellow Greek carrier Cronus in 2001. The airline operates 21 A320 and A321 aircraft within a total fleet of 31. It serves 17 Greek and 26 international destinations.
Transnautic Air Service is the exclusive French member of the EGSAC independent GSSA network, which has over 80 stations in more than 30 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Indian subcontinent.
