More regular traffic to India

In March, Sweden acquired its first deep-sea service to Red Sea and India when The Shipping Corporation of India, SCI, started the service between the Port of Gothenburg and Nhava Sheva and Mundra on the west coast of India. Up to now vessels have called at the Port of Gothenburg every third week although from July the frequency will increase to every second week.
“India, with its population of 1.2 billion, is an important and growing market for Swedish companies and the new line has been very successful up to now. Consequently, SCI will now call at the Port of Gothenburg every second week rather than every third,” says Leif Lund, President of Freightman, the Swedish agent for SCI.
The transport time between Gothenburg and India is approximately 20 days and to Red Sea (Jeddah), approximately 10 days. Port rotation is Gothenburg-PortSaid-Jeddah-Colombo-NhavaSheva-Mundra-Salalah-Barcelona-Hamburg-Rotterdam-Felixstowe-Gothenburg.
