Deutsche Bahn to reduce the number of train runs
The cargo division DB Schenker Rail is one of the main targets of the EUR 2bn (USD 2.80bn) cost-cutting programme of Deutsche Bahn's new chief executive Rüdiger Grube. Within the five-year programme, Deutsche Bahn is to combine transport in block trains and mixed trains. The company is already testing this concept. By combining the two types of services, the German railway company aims to reduce the number of train runs and thus costs, Logistics Finland informed.
