Rutges Cargo, the European truck operator serving customers in the air cargo, hi-tech, pharmaceutical and perishable sectors has upgraded its quality certification to ISO 9001:2008 following a successful audit by independent assessor, SGS.
The accreditation is in line with the standards achieved by Rutges Cargo’s parent company in the Netherlands, the Wim Bosman Group.
Prior to awarding ISO 9001:2008 certification, the auditors carried out a thorough study of Rutges Cargo’s quality manual and procedures in all of its departments.
This included checks on record-keeping, internal audits, compliance with legal requirements, the management of customer complaints, the evaluation of subcontractors and continuous improvement processes.
Bauke Felix, Managing Director of Rutges Cargo, said: “ certification or through our membership of Cargo 2000 or the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA). Many of our clients only want to work with partners
that have the ability to meet the demands of these accreditation standards.
“Most importantly of all, imbedding quality processes throughout our business makes us more efficient. We are achieving cost benefits that ultimately help to benefit our customers. Realising the best quality/cost ratio is the key to coming out of the current challenging market conditions in the best shape and to then be able to take
advantage of the new opportunities the upturn will create.”
