The discussion over the future of German railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB) now broke out again after the election victory of the CDU and FDP parties on 27 September 2009. Politicians of both parties seized the first opportunity to address the separation of the rail network from the railway group and a privatisation of the transportation companies. The SPD party and trade unions warned the future government against splitting up the group. DB chairman Rüdiger Grube stressed that he is still favouring an integrated group which unites the transportation companies and the infrastructure under one roof. Grube furthermore said that an IPO of DB is not an issue at present due to the financial crisis. However, the IPO will continue to be an option for the future, Logistics Finland informs.
